OpenCode
Section titled “OpenCode”OpenCode global profiles use an AllAgents-owned configuration directory and set
both OPENCODE_CONFIG and OPENCODE_CONFIG_DIR in the generated launcher.
These are additive override layers: normal global configuration and
current-project discovery still apply. They do not isolate OpenCode credentials,
cache, data, or state.
Profile plugins use file installation for skills and commands. OpenCode’s CLI
can install a plugin but does not expose the complete inspect, targeted update,
and remove lifecycle required for ownership-safe native installation, so
install: native fails before mutation. Strict profile settings and local or
remote MCP declarations share the generated opencode.json; portable
${ENV_VAR} references become OpenCode {env:ENV_VAR} references and are
resolved only by the runtime.
Profile cleanup removes unchanged managed files and OpenCode’s exact
runtime-generated .gitignore. A modified .gitignore or any unrelated file
retains the root and reports a partial removal instead of recursively deleting
unknown content.
GitHub Copilot CLI
Section titled “GitHub Copilot CLI”Copilot global profiles require GitHub Copilot CLI 1.0.74 or newer. AllAgents
sets COPILOT_HOME to an owned configuration root and
COPILOT_CACHE_HOME to a sibling owned cache directory. The generated launcher
preserves its arguments and current working directory, so Copilot continues to
discover the active project’s instructions, agents, skills, settings, and MCP
configuration normally.
File installation writes personal skills, agents, hooks, and
copilot-instructions.md beneath the selected COPILOT_HOME. Profile settings
are written to settings.json; MCP servers are written to mcp-config.json
with runtime ${ENV_VAR} references preserved. AllAgents also includes the
declarative plugin and marketplace settings that Copilot’s native lifecycle
requires, preventing the runtime from rewriting an untracked settings file.
Native installation resolves one plugin identity from authoritative marketplace
metadata, materializes a missing marketplace registration, and delegates install,
targeted update, and uninstall to Copilot. A native plugin cannot declare a skill filter.
Copilot’s marketplace command cannot pin a Git ref, so a native declaration
with ref fails before mutation instead of installing an unverified revision.
Use file installation when a pinned source or selected skills are required.
Removal uninstalls managed native plugins and releases managed marketplace
registrations before recursively deleting only an AllAgents-created client
root. A root that existed before installation is referenced rather than owned;
unrelated or conflicting files are preserved and reported instead of adopted.
Copilot’s operating-system credential store and enterprise policy remain
outside COPILOT_HOME, so this is configuration isolation, not a security
sandbox. See GitHub’s Copilot CLI configuration directory

Claude Code
Section titled “Claude Code”Claude Code global profiles require Claude Code 2.1.268 or newer. AllAgents sets
an absolute, owned CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR, isolates CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_CACHE_DIR,
and clears inherited plugin seed and transcript-directory selectors. The
generated launcher preserves arguments and the caller’s working directory, so
the active project’s CLAUDE.md, settings, skills, and .mcp.json continue to
compose with the selected global profile.
File installation writes selected skills, commands, agents, hooks, and
CLAUDE.md beneath the isolated root. Strict settings are written to
settings.json. Profile MCP servers are written to the additive
allagents.mcp.json passed by the launcher without --strict-mcp-config;
portable ${ENV_VAR} references remain unresolved on disk and normal project
MCP discovery stays active.
Native installation requires one authoritative marketplace identity. AllAgents materializes Claude’s declarative marketplace and plugin settings, then delegates registration, install, update, uninstall, inventory, and safe marketplace cleanup to Claude’s user scope inside the selected root. Native skill filters and sparse marketplace paths are rejected; file installation is the deterministic alternative.
The isolated root also holds Claude-managed credentials, sessions, trust state,
plugin caches, and runtime metadata. Removing an AllAgents-created profile
intentionally removes that isolated runtime state after native cleanup. Ambient
~/.claude, project files, and platform credential stores remain outside the
filesystem cleanup boundary; inherited authentication environment variables
can still override the selected profile login.
Codex global profiles require Codex CLI 0.149.0 or newer. AllAgents assigns an
owned CODEX_HOME, writes <profile>.config.toml, and generates a launcher
that verifies the named file exists before running codex --profile <profile>.
The launcher preserves arguments and the current working directory, so trusted
project configuration and instructions retain their documented higher
precedence.
File installation writes selected skills beneath the isolated home. Strict
settings and MCP servers share the named TOML profile. Portable MCP
${ENV_VAR} references are translated to Codex’s environment-name fields; the
secret value is never resolved or written. Reference shapes Codex cannot
represent natively fail before mutation.
Native installation requires one authoritative marketplace identity. AllAgents delegates marketplace registration, plugin installation, Git marketplace upgrade, local plugin refresh, removal, and inventory inspection to Codex. Removing an AllAgents-managed marketplace fails closed while another installed plugin still depends on it.
CODEX_HOME also contains Codex credentials, sessions, logs, and caches.
Recursive cleanup is limited to a client root AllAgents created for this
profile; removing that profile intentionally removes its isolated runtime
state. Ambient ~/.codex, project files, and operating-system keyrings remain
outside the cleanup boundary.

File sync writes project skills to .pi/skills/ and user skills to
~/.pi/agent/skills/. Set PI_CODING_AGENT_DIR to relocate Pi’s user agent
root.
Native install mode delegates plugin lifecycle to Pi’s package manager. Pi
0.85.1 through 0.85.x is supported. Package sources may be npm specs such as
npm:pi-extension, Git repositories, or local paths. Project-native operations
fail before mutation unless Pi’s trusted settings outside the project boundary
authorize that project. Ordinary workspace sync only inspects
pi-mcp-adapter; a Pi global profile may declare
npm:pi-mcp-adapter with install: native and then materialize profile-scoped
MCP configuration after the installed package is verified as usable.
Pre-existing usable adapters are recorded as referenced and preserved.
Pi profile launchers select an isolated PI_CODING_AGENT_DIR while retaining
the caller’s working directory and normal project package discovery.
File sync writes project skills to .omp/skills/ and user skills to
~/.omp/agent/skills/. Native install mode requires OMP 18.1.17 or newer and a
marketplace-backed plugin spec such as
compound-engineering@EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin. AllAgents registers
the required marketplace, delegates scoped install, update, and uninstall to
OMP, and preserves marketplace registrations on uninstall.
Ordinary OMP operations always address the unnamed profile: AllAgents removes
inherited OMP_PROFILE, PI_PROFILE, and PI_CONFIG_FILES selectors while
preserving the active HOME and XDG roots.
OMP global profiles use the runtime’s native --profile <name> selector.
AllAgents pins HOME, PI_CONFIG_DIR, and active XDG roots consistently across
planning, native commands, status, and generated launchers. The canonical
GitHub main ref is resolved to a revision before mutation and verified against
OMP’s marketplace checkout. Profile removal unregisters a marketplace only
when this profile introduced it and no installed plugin still references it.
VSCode
Section titled “VSCode”VSCode syncs the same skills, agent file, and GitHub overrides as Copilot. Additionally, adding vscode to clients triggers automatic .code-workspace file generation and MCP config syncing during allagents update. See the Workspaces guide for details.
